Bluebeam is slow to open PDF Files
Problems
- Slow document rendering and refreshing when zooming and navigating.
- Opening documents takes longer than usual.
- Program becomes unresponsive.
- Interface is slow to respond to input.
Solutions
A few users have reported performance issues after upgrading to Bluebeam Revu, or after installing Windows Updates. The settings and updates below have helped other users, and may also improve performance on your computer. They’re listed in order of the simple to more complicated. Please try them in order.
1. Change the Rendering Style in Revu:
The Wait for completion Rendering Style disables partial redrawing of the display. Instead, the screen will not update until the full page is ready to display.
- In Revu, click Settings > Preferences or press Ctrl+K.
- Click Advanced on the left.
- Under 2D Rendering, select Wait for completion in the Rendering Mode dropdown menu and click OK.
How this helps:
- Reduces the total amount of time to redraw the PDF page by avoiding temporary redraws.
- Reduces time to redraw the PDF page on 4K and high-resolution displays.
