Creating Office 365 Groups with Different Domains

You will find that if you are trying to create a Office 365 group with a different domain than the default domain, you will be unable to do so. There is a workaround for this at this time, do the following:

  1. Go to Admin
  2. Under Settings click Domain
  3. Go to Home->Domains
  4. You will see breeneng.com is set as the default
  5. Change it to the domain that you want to create a group for
  6. Now create the group
  7. Go back to the beginning and set breeneng.com back to the default domain


    Since January 2017, you can do it now in Exchange without doing the above ****


NOTES:

  • You must be a global admin to be able to do this.
