Change instance type - NLA problem; Settings to allow users to RDP into a server


Note that this should be done after joining a server to a domain and making sure that its DNS setting are correct. Use local admin account to do this.





  1. Search for sysdm.cpl and open it. This will open a window like the one on the left-most of the picture
  2. On the remote tab, check "Allow remote connections to this computer" and the option below it then click on "Select Users..." button
  3. On the new window, click on "Add..." button
  4. On the new window, type in "domain users" then click on "Check Names" button, this will format what you typed as shown in the picture
  5. Click on "OK" on all windows for the changes to take effect
